How we started?
Hello and welcome to our first blog post! I’m excited to share the journey that brought me here with you.
After spending 10 years in brand marketing within the entertainment industry, I found myself feeling drained and frustrated. I needed a change and had been toying with the idea of starting something of my own. Then, COVID-19 hit, and like many others, I lost my job. It was a tough time, but it also felt like the perfect opportunity to turn a new page. The problem was, I had no idea what my next step would be.
In early 2020, I got engaged to the love of my life. We were thrilled, but due to lockdowns and travel restrictions, we had to postpone our wedding for two years. Living in America while my fiancée was in India, I found myself planning an eight-day wedding with 1,200 guests entirely online. To say it was chaotic would be an understatement! We juggled six different wedding planning platforms and countless spreadsheets, which only led to stress and arguments—definitely not what we had envisioned.
That’s when it hit me: if we were struggling this much, surely other couples were too. Determined to make wedding planning smoother, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Using my background in marketing and design, I started working on a prototype for a wedding planning app.
But before launching the app, I wanted to truly understand the challenges couples face. I began offering my services to help plan weddings, starting small and eventually handling events for 300 to 500 guests. This hands-on experience was invaluable. It allowed me to identify the pain points in the planning process and find ways to address them in the app.
Now, after countless hours of designing, brainstorming, and learning, things are finally coming together. We’re managing about two weddings a month, each one teaching us something new and helping us create unforgettable memories for our clients.
I’m excited to use this space to share wedding tips, dos and don'ts, and much more. We’ll also feature guest posts from newlyweds and couples in the midst of planning, offering you fresh insights and advice.
